Summer Internship at BPS!

We are seeking one outstanding guy or gal to work with us this summer in the studio. If this interests you, here’s what we have to offer:

  • Internship from approximately mid May – mid August (specific dates are not set). Roughly 10 weeks total.
  • 100-150 hours total working time (10-15 hours/week.)
  • A regular schedule with occasionally flexible hours. We have weird work weeks sometimes.
  • Unpaid. Sorry.

Intern tasks will be varied, and could include: sorting type, reclaiming screens, proofing fonts, cleaning, packing posters, assisting with print runs, and helping with shop organization.

After a summer working with us, you will have first hand experience assisting in a public-access print studio, hands-on experience in typesetting, all aspects of letterpress and screenprinting, and helping with the occasional commercial printing job.

Think you have what it takes? Email your Resume, Cover Letter, and list of references to print@baltimoreprintstudios.com. Applications are due by Monday, April 23rd.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Pulled: Evidence of a Print Community

Pulled postcard

We were recently asked to “sub-curate” a print show at Case[werks] Gallery, a show of printers curating in other printers and artists who inspire them, as well as contributing a print of their own. We asked some really talented printers to join us and are so excited they said yes! Please stop by and see some beautiful, letterpress prints by Brad Vetter (Brad Vetter Design), Keegan Onefoot-Wenkman (KeeganMeegan & Co), and Kyle Durrie (Power and Light Press and Type Truck). The  opening is this Thursday, April 5 from 5:30-8pm. Other sub-curators include Goya Contemporary/Goya-Girl Press, Typecast Press, Gilah Press and Design, Litho Shop, and Open Space.
